Fall Ball Season

MVGS plays with the OC Fall Ball association. Games are played on Sundays and families may travel to surrounding Orange County cities for games. There are no games during the week during the fall season. You can sign up for 2024 MVGS Fall Ball here

  • Games will begin the weekend of September 7 and end November 17
  • Games are played on Sundays (14u Division games may be played on Saturdays)
  • There will be one rec season tournament and two Select season tournaments
  • Birth Years: Age divisions based on Spring 2025 Age Requirements. See the chart below.

MVGS Fall Recreation / Select General Information

 

MVGS Fall has two separate recreation programs:

•    Fall Recreational (Rec)

•    Fall Select

Both programs will compete against other leagues from South Orange County, but each program offers a different level of competition and commitment from the players and families

Season Timeline: September 8th - November 17th.

 

Fall Recreational 6u-12u

This program, while still competitive, has less intensity and weekly time commitment. New Players are welcome!

•    Practices: One practice per week. At times an additional practice could be scheduled, i.e. batting cages.

•    Games: One game every Sunday.

•    Timing: Practices begin in late August/early September, with games running from mid-September through mid-November.

•    There is one Rec Season Tournament. Dates and times TBD.

•    Competitiveness: Teams are represented from the southern ASA leagues.

•    Fall Rec is competitive but offers girls with other commitments to be able to still participate.

•    Selection Process:  Skills Day for each girl to showcase their talents. Girls will be expected to play in the age-appropriate division based on the division to be played in during the following Spring.

14u and Fall Select 

MVGS does not offer a 14U Rec program, so all 14U players are required to join our Select program.

This is a highly competitive program, much like All-Stars, with a greater time commitment required.

•    Practices: Two to three times per week

•    Games - Doubleheader (two games) every Sunday. They can be at Alicia or any other select league locations.

•    Timing: Practices begin in late August/early September, with games running from mid-September through mid-November.

•    Tournaments:

          Pumpkin Tournament: TBD

          Turkey Tournament: TBD

•    Competitiveness: The age divisions are divided into Gold (A) and Silver (B). Gold is made up of mostly All-Stars, many being District All-Stars. While the Silver division does have many All-Stars, not all girls are All-Stars.

•    Selection Process: Coaches will “select” or “recruit” girls from the Spring Rec league. Due to the limited number of Select teams, not all girls will be “selected.” If you are not selected, your daughter will be placed on a Rec team.
